As new technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence continue to grow in influence the very nature of what work means and how it is organised in the future will be radically reconfigured. Not only are new technologies reshaping the types of jobs available but also new practices such as ‘crowdsourcing’ and ‘gig work’ in the ‘sharing economy’ are reinventing and reconstructing the relationship between employers/ employees.
In a panel discussion held at the University of Auckland, four experts discuss what these changes might mean for the young in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Nik Green is from the New Zealand Productivity Commission and is involved in a review for the government on the future of work.
Judith Bessant is a Professor from RMIT Australia and author of The Great Transformation: History for a Techno-Human Future.
Wendy Kerr is the Director of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Auckland.
Nicky Jones is a Senior Consultant at MartinJenkins.
