Big money has supported cross-institution collaborations researching both medicine and weaponry. Maria Armoudian discusses big money and the birth of big science with Michael Hiltzik.

Michael Hiltzik is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author. His books include The New Deal: A Modern History, The Plot Against Social Security: How the Bush Plan Is Endangering Our Financial Future.
