COVID-19 is a truly global pandemic, but the threats to the health, wellbeing, and economic prospects of people are particularly salient across Latin America. Two countries, in particular, Brazil and Mexico, are feeling the brunt of the pandemic more so. Doug Becker explores how these two countries are confronting COVID with Pamela K. Starr and Erica Resende.
Pamela K. Starr is a Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Southern California, Dornsife. She is an expert in Mexican politics and foreign policy and is the co-editor of Markets and Democracy in Latin America: Conflict or Convergence?
Erica Resende is an Assistant Professor of International Relations and Security Studies at the Brazilian War College in Rio de Janeiro. She is an expert in post-conflict studies and is the co-author of Crisis and Change in Post-Cold War Global Politics: Ukraine in a Comparative Perspective.
