Major political change is happening in Russia right now as President Vladimir Putin announced significant constitutional changes in his annual address to the nation. The amendments Putin put forward included term limits for the president, more authority for parliament who will now be able to choose the prime minister and wider powers for the state council. What does this mean for Russian politics and the future of Putin? Justin Wong spoke with Graeme Gill and William Partlett.Â
Graeme Gill is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Sydney. He is an expert in Russian Politics and is the author of Collective Leadership in Soviet Politics.
William Partlett is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Melbourne. He is an expert in public law.
