Canada’s federal election is taking place on October 21. The campaign has been hotly contested between Canada’s ruling liberal party and the two main opposition parties, the Conservatives and the New Democrats. A scandal involving Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has also generated controversy after it was revealed he wore blackface at a party in 2001. Justin Wong spoke with Daniel BĂ©land about the election and whether Trudeau can be re-elected.

Daniel BĂ©land is a Professor in Political Science at McGill University. He is an expert in Canadian politics and public policy.
