The relationship between a United States president and his vice-president, however close they may be during their time in office, rarely extends beyond the White House. The bond between Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon, however, endured as a result of both Nixon’s political tactics and their family ties. Jeffery Frank argues that the relationship between Eisenhower and Nixon, while not particularly good, would shape the United States’ political landscape for decades to come. In this interview, Maria Armoudian discusses this relationship and its implications for US politics with Jeffery Frank.
Jeffery Frank is an author and journalist. He is the author of Ike and Dick: Portrait of a Strange Political Marriage.
